Your gain now includes what exchange rates did
For stocks, funds and crypto priced in another currency, your profit now counts the exchange rate at the time you bought, and the returns row shows how much of it came from currency.
If you hold a stock, fund or crypto priced in a currency other than the one you view your wallet in, your profit used to convert what you paid at today's rate. A holding bought when the pound was weaker looked no different from one bought when it was stronger.
Your cost is now converted at the rate on the day of each purchase, the way it already was for cash and property. The profit you see is what you would really make in your own currency.
What changed
- Profit on holdings in another currency now includes the exchange rate since you bought.
- The returns row shows a currency line under Unrealized, only when you hold something in another currency.
- The 1D and other chart ranges are unchanged: they measure the move inside the range, not the currency effect since you bought.
Holdings in your own currency do not change at all. Profit on the others may read higher or lower, and the new number is the one you would realize.
